Epilepsy Scotland Training
We provide courses to raise awareness and ensure better care for people living with epilepsy. Our training is aimed at anyone who has an interest in epilepsy.
Our Understanding and Managing Epilepsy (UME) and Managing Difficult Epilepsy (MDE) courses are EPASS accredited for primary care professionals.
We also offer a bespoke training service aimed at meeting the needs of individual organisations.
The topics we cover include:
- Epilepsy - prevalence, incidence, diagnosis and classification of seizures
- Treatment of epilepsy - medication, surgical and alternative treatments
- Living with epilepsy - Disability equality, quality of life issues, information and advice
- Organisational policy design
- Specific group needs - women, older people, newly diagnosed
Our Trainers
The training team has a wide range of expertise. All have professional qualifications and keep up to date with best practice in the management of epilepsy care.
Training on the administration of rescue medication is provided to a nationally recognised standard by medically qualified staff and accredited trainers.
