Want to know more about epilepsy?
Here’s your chance to find out more about epilepsy. Just come along to any of the information events in Fife this month run by Epilepsy Scotland. On 22 July you can meet us at the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy from 3pm- 7pm. The next day, 23 July, we are in the Cosmos Community Centre, St Andrews from 11am-3pm and again from 6pm-8pm.
You can find out about the range of services on offer including a freephone helpline, website, information and leaflets. There will also be a general awareness talk on epilepsy where you can ask us any specific questions
Epilepsy Scotland already provides training in understanding and managing epilepsy. It helps raise awareness of epilepsy by giving talks to schools and community groups. It also campaigns for better healthcare and is lobbying health boards, including NHS Fife, to increase the number of specialist nurses.
Epilepsy Link Officer Craig Blair is encouraging people living in and around Fife to find out more. He said: “In this area there are few services to support people who have epilepsy. Having this common neurological condition can often be an isolating experience. Our services can make a difference for people and their families. We hope many will come to meet us and share their experiences. If you want to learn about epilepsy or just want to chat to us, we look forward to seeing you there!”
